Nuna Online is a platform for African consulting engineers to ask and answer technical questions, share research, and connect for mentorship. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Nuna Online.
You must be able to form a binding agreement under the law of your country and be a practising engineer, engineering student, or otherwise engaged in the engineering profession. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You keep full ownership of the questions, answers, research papers, messages, and any other material you post. Nuna Online claims no ownership over your content. You are responsible for what you post and you confirm you have the right to post it.
So that we can run the platform, you grant Nuna Online a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, translate, and distribute the content you post — solely to operate, promote, and improve the platform and to make your content visible to the audiences you choose (public, link, or private). This licence is limited to running Nuna Online. It does not transfer ownership, it is not sublicensable except to our infrastructure providers acting on our behalf, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups (deleted on our 30-day backup cycle) and copies others have already lawfully saved or that we must keep to meet a legal obligation. Where you upload a research paper, you confirm you are the author or hold the rights to share it, and that sharing it here does not breach any prior publisher agreement. You choose its visibility; changing visibility to "published" is your decision to make it public.
Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or deliberately misleading. Do not impersonate another engineer or misrepresent your credentials or verification status. Do not scrape, overload, or attempt to break the platform, and do not use it to send spam or solicit outside the platform's purpose.
Content on Nuna Online is peer discussion between engineers, not a substitute for a formal, stamped engineering opinion, a site-specific design, or independent verification. You remain professionally and legally responsible for any decision you take on a real project. Nuna Online does not verify the correctness of any answer and is not the responsible engineer of record for any work.
Members can report content. We may review, hide, or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, where content or conduct breaches these terms or the law. We aim to be proportionate and to act on genuine abuse quickly, but we do not pre-screen everything posted.
You can close your account at any time from settings; deletion revokes every active session across your devices. We may suspend or close an account that repeatedly or seriously breaches these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — your content licence for already-distributed copies, disclaimers, and liability limits — survive closure.
Nuna Online is provided "as is" during this early stage. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for professional or commercial decisions you make based on platform content, or for content posted by other members. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these terms as the platform grows. We will change the "last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice in-app or by email. Continuing to use Nuna Online after a change means you accept the updated terms.
